Are you eating right for your genes?

Are you eating the right diet for your genes?  Now you can find out.  Newtown Nutrition is excited to announce the introduction of genetic testing, available in-office.
The dietitians at Newtown Nutrition have undergone specialty genetic training and are able to provide you with genetic tests and personalised, DNA-based diet advice.  This exciting service will compliment other existing services available at Newtown Nutrition and will provide you with a new opportunity to maximise your health.
Nutrigenomics is the study of how food and diet interact with genes to increase the risk of chronic disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity. Now you can find out if your genes put you at risk for weight gain, or increase your sensitivity to sodium or put you at risk for chronic disease.  Based on the results of your genetic test, a dietitian will be able to personalise a diet for you.  It is no longer a one-size fits all approach to nutrition.
Newtown Nutrition is able to offer a range of genetic tests, including tests for appetite control, folate metabolism, caffeine, sodium, vitamin C, saturated fat, coeliac disease, lactose intolerance, inflammation and sports and exercise performance.  Based on the results of these tests, a dietitian will be able to provide specific, DNA-based nutrition advice. Our dietitian Kate is the nutrigenomic expert and she will be able to lead you through the genetic-testing process.
Please call or email Newtown Nutrition for more specific information or to book an appointment for your genetic test.
